      Central Museum of Armed Forces is One of global centers of the military history. Established in December 1919. Its exhibition is arranged in 24 halls and embraces the history of Russian and Soviet armies and navy from the early XVIII century till nowadays. The collection contains over 800,000 military history relics: items of clothing, military decoration and armaments that belonged to the royal family, generals, officers, and soldiers of Russian army; personal belongings and military decorations of renowned military officers and statesmen and participants of Great Patriotic War; a priceless relic – the Banner of Victory, raised above Reichstag in may 1945; and trophies of the World War II.Fragments of the American reconnaissance aircraft “Lockheed U-2” remind the “Cold War” period. Exhibits featuring the modern Russian army are also displayed. At the museum, there is an openair ground, where ca.200 samples of weaponry and war machinery are placed.
